We are a group of cycling enthusiasts in the Hot Springs Village area of Arkansas who enjoy the social, recreational and outdoor aspects of cycling. Long gone are the days of fast pacelines and the county line sprints. We recognize and understand that some of us are slower riders and some of us are may be a little faster. It is more important to us that we all enjoy the ride and no one is ever left behind, so we stop often to regroup and socialize.
Can I ride my E-bike with the group? Yes! You are welcome and encouraged to join us. You may have noticed the hills in and around Hot Springs Village. Well, several of our riders have switched to E-bikes and find that the hills are no longer a problem. Anything that helps to get us out of the house, to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us and to get in a little physical activity is a winner in my book. A while back the Bike Exchange wrote a blog about group rides and E-bikes, here's the link: Group Riding With an E-Bike
The Ageless Bicycle Club has over 12 different bike rides that are 16 to 22 mile and some that can extend to 35 miles or more. These rides are on paved, quiet country roads (one ride has up to three miles of gravel). Several rides are “out and back” so the beginner rider can turn back for a shorter ride. Rides are rated easy (beginning riders) for shorter length or flat to moderate hills; intermediate (most riders) for the longer length or more rolling hills; and advanced (experienced riders) for rides that are longer and with more challenging hills.
We ride on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year, weather permitting. Rides are scheduled a month at a time so all rides come up each month. One of the group's favorite is our monthly Arkansas River Trail ride with lunch at Flying Saucers in Little Rock. Start times are seasonal, so check the ride schedule. Winter schedule rides start at 1 pm and summer schedule rides start at 8 am. The only exception to these times is the 9:30 start time (8:30 in the hot summer months) for the Arkansas River Trail ride in Little Rock and Paron Long Ride.
